The ZZ4 crate V8 engines and all the V6's do it. It'sirritating when you're not used to it, but it's quite normal for theseengines. It also has theroller-type valve rockers. It seems that one of the reasons for havingroller rocker arms is to minimize mechanical valve-related power losses(i.e., friction caused by loose or miss-aligned hardware).

GM Designed the Envoy to take the NissonPathfinder head on a kick it's ass and they have quite well succeeded...but youwon't know that until you drive them and read the magazine reviews. You don'twant to assume that if it's Japanese it's better, because in this case, thatjust ain't the truth.

Initial quality means JACK SQUAT!I heard that the piston problem was related to a bad batch of blocks. My understanding is that the problem has been rectified...Weather they fixed it or not, they have a huge number of customers pissedoff because GM is turing a deaf ear to the buyers that are having the pistonslap problem. Last I've heard, they are very much still having trouble withthe overbore of #1 and 2 cylinders. It is not the block itself, it is theboring process that they are having a problem with - in short, the issue istheir tooling and BIG $$$$$!!GM has been telling owners that this is not going to ruin their vehicles,and yet there are sites on the net that prove otherwise (pictures of boredamage on bad engines). Just another issue that proves that GM is still thesame old US version of the late Yugo carmaker.

This problem is withthe LS1 and cousin engines. The Trailblazer and the rest of that cookiecutter family did have the catastrophic trailing arm failure right out ofthe box, forcing GM to suspend sale and round up all sold units untill theygot it fixed.
