I'm just getting into 4x4 and off road stuff and I don't know where to get goodies. If anyone has suggestions for good mail-order companies that sell Wrangler accessories. I'd be most appreciative. A couple of things I've seen that I'd like to get are a roll-bar mounted cargo rack and a rear cage that carries a couple of fuel cans that replaces the spare tire mount.
jeep accessories : i am visiting San Diego in September and would like to know if thereare any stores which jeep accessories and parts except Jeep Dealers?San Diego has quite a few 4x4 stores but unfortunately none of them havea real big stock of stuff for Jeeps... or any other 4x4 for thatmatter. They generally have a lot of the cheesy SteelHorse "show"accessories but the serious stuff usually has to be ordered. The twobest stores for carrying parts I've found are the Off-Road Warehouse onBalboa Avenue in San Diego, and Four Wheel Parts on Johnson Avenue in ElCajon (a city that adjoins San Diego on the East side). In fact,Off-Road Warehouse has a store in El Cajon too, not far from Four WheelParts... so maybe you should just hit El Cajon for both stores sincethey're so close to each other? Dick Cepek's 4x4 store in San Diego isjust about empty of anything but tires, shocks and a few smallaccessories. It looks like they may be in financial trouble but that'sjust a guess. Anything in particular you're looking for? Generally, I kind of knowwhat most of the stores usually seem to have in stock.
jeep accessories : Could someone help me out and point me to a store or a magazine for Jeepaccessories around Southern Ontario. I'm getting into this thing a bit andwould like to avoid problems by going to the right place first. Like, whereshould I look for half doors for instance is one place. there is at least one more, but it'sname escapes me. Their website is down for renovation andthey are too @#$% busy to finish it, according to them. Spring madhouse, eh.They are a good shop, not too pricey, not rip off artists, know theirJeeps and often have used parts. I was there a couple days ago and hewas flooded with folks asking about half doors though...Just Jeeps is on Finch near Dufferin and often have lots of used partstoo.And surprisingly enough, as I have an 86 CJ7, Canadian Tire can get meall kinds of parts. Rancho, Accel, good snatch straps... and even weirdshit like shift fork seals for my Dana 300 T-case that nobody else couldget, not even the dealer.There is a fairly large group of us from this newsgroup that gettogether for day trips and camping trips year round here in southernOntario.

If I get my front end finished this week, I might. Got to change a huband get it aligned after changing all the tie rod ends.Two calls last weekend and Steve and I almost went on our own, but... Ilike my tires. :-)If you are interested in some off road play, I could add you to theemail list of folks to notify for runs. We average 4 or 5 on any givenrun, but get some numbers sometimes. Big place, so small groups can berunning adjacent runs.There are a mess of photos in the link on my sig line from our runs.Suitable for stock up to the big boys with the 44's in that area.
