jeep dealers : I'm looking at a '95 Grand Cherokee and would like to find out about some ofthe Jeep dealerships with which people have had good purchase/serviceexperiences here in San Francisco Bay Area or Northern CA. I'd also like tofind out what kind of deal people have been able to get on a late model GrandCherokee if you don't mind discussing that information.I purchased a Grand Cherokee, this year, from BoardWalk in Redwood City aftervisiting 6 dealers in the Bay Area. They had the best selection and serviceof anyone. For example, when most dealers had 10 cars on the lot, Boardwalkhad 50 including V8 models. Included with the price of the vechile was: - Free oil changes for life - Discount on parts and accessories (typically 10%) - Free 1000 mile inspection (They actually found a problem with my GC) - Fast oil changes (typically 15-20 minutes while you wait) - Free Bagels and coffee while you wait :)Service is usually by appointment. The second best dealer was Capitol Jeep who had the second best selection ofautos.
jeep dealers : The worst dealer I talked to was Les Vogel in Burlingame. Bad selection andservice from the sales staff. I have talked to people who have bought autosfrom them and no one seems to have gotten a good deal on a GC from them. The people also said the service people were rude. I met some owners when they brought their cars in for service at Boardwalk.All other dealers were pretty equal with the Jeep dealer in Sunnyvale havingthe third best selection of GCs.Hope this helps-Don. I have bought 2 cars there - '94 Chrysler New Yorker and '94 Eagle Vision and they were great. Ask for Bill Morrill and he will NOT play the obnoxious car-buying games with you. He is also the authorized salesman who you need to contact if you want to buy the car through the AAA assured price plan. If you're a AAA (Cal State Auto Assn) member, then PCI will sell you a car at a very deep discount with no need to negotiate. Good hunting for your car!

jeep dealers : Your logic makes one false assumption: there will be no change in the Chryslerlineup. They've already announced several: First, a new low-end Cirrus, the Cirrus LX, which will be priced within a couple of hundred dollars of the Breeze.The Cirrus and the Breeze are on the same platform. Similarly, the Plymouth Voyageris being renamed the Chrysler Voyager. Chrysler will also be introducing thePT Cruiser, which is a cross between an SUV and a '39 Ford on a Neon platform. As to the Neon, having both a Dodge and Plymouth version costs lots of money. It's called brand engineering, and is in the process of disappearing (it will take awhile). Expect future lower end cars with the Chrysler marque. Perhaps not Neon priced, that would be contrary to the brand image, but definitely in the average price range.You can't blame the folks in Stuttgart for this decision, it had been in theworks for some time. Chrysler had already eliminated the Plymouth brand inCanada, where the basic formula is Chrysler cars, Jeep SUVs, and Dodge Trucks.

E-mail privately if you prefer.I bought my 97 TJ from PRO Jeep in Thorton, and don't recomend them. They gaveme a run around at every step of the buying process, and as soon as I drove myJeep off the lot, they stopped helping me with any problems I had. I also hadthem install my sound bar before I took delivery, and when I had my aftermarket CD player professionaly installed, found out that they had done ahalf-assed job on that too !! So, IMO *DO NOT* deal with PRO!I just got a 99 JGC from Pollard Motors in Boulder. I haven't used theirservice department yet but I'm a customer for life with them when it comesto buying Jeeps.When I started looking, I went to Herbert Motors in Longmont since they wereclose -- four visits, two sets of lost paperwork, twice sitting for over ahalf-hour while they did a search for what I wanted, and a sales staff whotreated me like I had 20 dollars instead of 20 grand to spend. What a joythey were. Close or not, I'm never going in there again.
