It would cost you muchmore to upgrade by purchasing the parts separately. Highly recommended ifyou ever plan on taking your Jeep off road. The gas shocks give a slightlystiffer/more truck like ride. It doesn't make sense if you intend your Jeepas a macho mini-van or are going to be doing a major lift, adding a winch, etc.soon after purchase.

jeep off road : Can't tell y'all how excited I am since I got my new, well new to me, 2000Jeep Wrangler. It's only been a few weeks since I bought it but I am justabout ready to take this bad boy off road. I live in Tampa, Florida so Ifigure Ocala may be the best place for me to go.I have never been to the Ocala National Forest so I have no idea where to gowhere I will be able to introduce my Jeep to the terrain. Can someone pointme on the right direction? Are there any good websites out there for offroading in Ocala? Any pictures? Any other suggestions for my first off roadtrip?I am a 4 wheel drive virgin so please be gentle... ok not toooo gentle.Well, first off I highly recommend you find someone to wheel with.Running solo is not a good thing to do even for 'experienced' offroaders.Vehicles tend to break or slide off the road at the worst places andit can be a Long walk out sometimes... That said, I run solosometimes and have had 4, 8-10 mile hikes in the last few years whenthe trail went from 'easy cruising' to 'oh shit!' in a blink of aneye. On the last one, I tore a groin muscle when she tipped off theside of a causeway (the snow just let go under one side of my Jeep)and had to hike 8 miles in 3' of snow at -25C or so at night...
