jeep tires : trail terrain? am i to assume that bfg does not manufacture these any more?Wes Williams wrote in message...I cannot confirm or deny production, but I have seen them available fromseveral popular souces. However, they aren't commonly advertised by themore "hard-core" off road suppliers. Generally 31x10.5x15 (which fit mystock '90 wrangler!) are the most commonly stocked size I've seen. These tires are one notch between the BFG Long Trail and the BFG AT's.I just looked on their website, and think you may be right about no futherproduction as they were not listed there: I've got 31x10.5 BFG KO's on my TJ. jeep tires : Dwayne... Thats not your tires fault. We`ve got that clay crap in the NWtoo. My Boggers have some trouble cleaning in that slop too. 1964 CJ-5 / Buick 231 / sm420 (GM)Dana18 / Warn overdriveDana 27 / 44 Powr-loks33x14x15 Boggerscrawl ratio = 73.88:1I'm glad you said that Dwayne. I'm running 31s also, and wondered how they'd do in the mud. I've beenpretty much sticking to dry trails and such for fear of getting stuck w/o a winch.I have had received good mileage from my GY's, which are now sitting @34,000 miles and still have quite a bitof tread left, but I do agree they are not the best tire forwet driving situations.I do have my concearns about how much better the BFG's will be on wetpavement though.Like any All Terrain tire, the BFG AT is at best, a compromise M+S tirethat is probably only mediocre on a wet highway... when compared to agood rain tire that is. For a road-only tire that is to be used onhighways that are slick from rain, snow, or ice, there are better tiresthan the BFG AT. Michelin probably makes some of the best tires forthat kind of use. The BFG AT, while a good tire, is a betterall-terrain tire than it is anything else.

jeep tires : yes you can get suspension lift kits that will clear thosetires.....starting from probably $500 if you want to do a half waydecent job with it....$1000+ if you want to do it properly.that's in cdn dollars.....since I see you're from New Brunswick. On Fri, 10 May 2002 20:56:02 GMT, "Chris Forbes" wrote:You are basically going to have to get a wrangler if you want to use anykind of body lift. To fit 33's though, you really need a 3 inch suspensionlift. A two with a 1 inch body lift will do but not as well.<soapbox>If you can't afford to do 33's right, then do 31's right, of just get stock tires. Crap is always cheap, and will always be crap.</soapbox>31's will probably fit on a YJ Wrangler but you will get some rubbing if you gooffroading, a short body lift will help there, but a suspension lift would bebetter, 2" or more.31's will fit the XJ Cherokee but you will get rubbing off-road, a 3"suspension lift will fix that. For strictly on-road you could do a 1.75" frontspring spacer and a rear extended shackle or add-a-leaf and you won't have anyproblems.

jeep tires : Can't speak for the Grand Cherokee, but I imagine you'd need at least 2" liftto fit 31's.Which one did you decide on?* * *Matt Macchiarolo'02 F250 SD Crewcab'00 TJ Sport'93 XJ CountryI have found a Jeep that I will bid on. It's a Red 1994 Jeep Cherokee Sportand it needs tires. I do intend to go off road and I want a bigger tirethen the standard tires, any suggestions of what size would be good (norubbing or little chance of rubbing) without a lift kit? I am willing topay $150-$200 Canadian for a lift but it seems that that is not enough for adecent lift. What is the biggest mud tire size I can put on without any complications??Oh, the brand I am buying is Sport King Steel Radial Mud Tires so it wouldbe greatly appreciated if you can suggest a size for that particular tire. You can just get a 2" spacer lift cheap. I picked one up from a guy atour local mud pit for $50.00. I think retail is less than $200.00.This gives you spacers for the front coil springs and blocks for therear leaf springs. You then should get 2" longer shocks to matchthough. The front shocks can be extended with a fitting for the topshaft. Canadian Tire sells those 2" shock extensions cheap.

jeep tires : I believe the rear shocks have the hole at the top instead of the rod sothose will have to be replaced.Mike86/00 CJ7 Laredo, 33x9.5 BFG Muds, 'glass nose to tail88 Cherokee 235 BFG AT'sCanadian Off Road Trips Photos: Updated Apr. 05, 02.5 Day Canadian Bush 2002 Easter Jeep RunScroll to page bottom for more trip photo links.I don't know what the retail in Canada is, but in the States you can pick upa 2": Budget Boost for an XJ for $200 or less, with shocks. Mine has aRubicon Express 2" Budget Boost, but if you can shop around try to find aboost with full-length add-a-leaves instead of the RE 1/2-length ones.Rusty () reportedly has a full-length available but Idon't know how much GST and import charges would add to it.The rear shocks on the Cherokee have a bar-pin that is a well-known problemarea when the pin breaks, but a set of JKS Bar-Pin Eliminators runs about$30 here, and makes a great fix. I'm waiting on a pair of BPE's for myfront (lower) right now.
