They do not offer thesame factory warranty as Chrysler (U.S.) does. Many of the warrantyterms (U.S.) are desiogned to meet U.S. legal requirements placed onthe manufacturers.FWIW, under the standard Chrysler warranty, no modifications actually"void" the warranty. Any additional parts, of course, are not covered(like a new stereo), but if the dealer can determine that themodification is the cause of the problem (like a blown u-joint whenyou have heavier aftermarket tyres fitted) they are under noobligation to repair (not under warranty terms - i.e. for free). Iwould suspect that Jeep U.K. would have similar terms. Chrysler hasan arbitration process if you think the dealership is wrong, but theprocess is often a long & drawn-out one.I doubt your 30'' tyres would void your warranty, in spite of theseemingly uninformed claim that Frosts made. It may void yourinsurance, but not the warranty. Jeeps were available with 30'' tyresas a factory option. Furthermore, there's no way that 30 tyres couldcause your seat problems. Look in your owner's manual. It shouldprecicely explain the warranty terms.

But I suspect that Jeep-UK will attemptto weasel their way out of any warranty hassles that they possibly can!..I Spoke to other Jeep owners about hassles they've had and I have to say I wassupprised at Jeep's quite block headed response. If I had any idea about theirattitude towards their customers for after sales and probably wouldn't have boughta Jeep.Still she is a nice little vehicle even if Jeep-UK are not very good at customerrelations.I must admit to wondering why I should bother at all with servicing with Jeepapproved parts etc. I mean they probably will void my warranty because I got mud onmy Jeep!. <Grin>.--Its a Jeep thing..You wouldn't understand.URL: ORIts an Anoraks thing.. My dealer's been great - every time it goes in for a service,there's usually something new on it (like my disconnects, hand-throttle, biggertyres, etc) and they usually say something like "Cool tyres" or "really neatidea, that hand-throttle".
jeep uk : Whenever something's gone wrong I've always just rung them up and booked it in.Sometimes I've gone to collect the Jeep expecting to have to pay for something,only to be told they did it all on the warranty.If you've got a clued-up dealer who understands that the biggest selling pointof a Wrangler is the huge aftermarket mods, then you'll be fine. I know someonewith a RE 4.5" lift, Turbo City air tube, exhaust, etc, etc, and he's still gota warranty on his electrical and engine components. Obviously they're not goingto provide warranty cover on non-Jeep parts, but everything else is covered. Like Dave says, if they can prove that something you've done has causedsomething else to fail, then that's your fault... but you'd expect that.Well the vehicle certainly gets a lot of limelight.. But I have to say I am notconvinced by Jeep UK's stance on after sales support. It would appear to be verygrudging support.You could argue that it shouldn't have broke in the first place.. I am having my seatsfixed (Again) and I must say if they don't stay fixed this time I am gonna get (more)pissed off.

Jeep-UK are just being difficult.As an example I have to replace my tailpipe..(Current one is a little curly) If i gotfor a non Jeep part not only is the part not covered by the warranty (Fine!) but thisalso invalidates the entire emissions system and pretty much anything to do with theengine combustion system. I have chosen to replace with a expensive Jeep part this timebecause I can't afford to buy a new engine is it goes wrong!. I'veheard that the agreement runs out at the end of this year... and another rumourthat Chrysler US are looking at setting-up over here proper. I hope they do,'cos the Jeep US guys I've spoken to have been real fanatical.Inchcape (who own Chrysler Jeep Imports UK) are really only in it for themoney. And boy, have they made some money, what with Jeep's and Chrysler'sconsistently out-selling their targets. So now they've done all the work andset-up a dealer network, Chrysler US have woken up and said "Aaahhh, the UKlooks like a profitable market... let's terminate CJI's license and set-upourselves over there".The problem here is that 30" tyres aren't a factory option *over here*. In theUS, yes, UK, no. The fact that Barry Stallard has had several vehicles lifted,winched, tyred and God knows what else by Surrey Off-Road has nothing to do withit (I bet he's still got his warranty!).I've just had to have my exhaust manifold welded-up (a common TJ problem). Theguys there said that it's not a perfect solution, but if it breaks again thenthey'll have to fit a new one. I was talking to the guys about Borla and Gibsonand they reckoned there wouldn't be a problem if they were to fit one of thesefor me, without affecting the warranty. How they do this, I don't know - maybewhen they place the warranty claim, they just lie and tick the box that says"Yes, the vehicle is completely standard".
