Your HTML post is cut by a lotof servers and lots of folks only use text readers for news. Noteveryone uses microsoft and their HTML is not readable by these folks. Same for email, Netscape users cannot read the new microcrap html, sothey only receive a blank email.There are some websites that deal with FSJ's (full sized jeeps) but Idon't have a link to them. jeep wagoneer : Ok, so I know it's not the greatest 4X4, but I sort of like the way they look. Any info on problems, years and options to look for (or look out for), etc would be greatly appreciated. I would mainly use it on the highway with the monthly fishing trip down some rough logging roads. Thesefigures should improve to 10 & 14 with the part time 4x4 Select-trac (1980 on) in two wheel drive mode. Model Year variations: [Someone want to fill in the engine notes for '62 - '73?]1962 Two, or four, doors. Two, or Four, wheel drive. Tornado 230ci six (Overhead Cam). 1963-64 Front torsion bars, which were dropped in favor of leaf springs from '65 on. Kin,Other than a wimpy AC unit (compared to modern units) and the horrible gas mileage (between 10 and 12 mpg) I love my '84 grand wagoneer. I live in Phoenix, AZ and use mine for getting back to fishing holes and what with an element of insurance (4WD and a selectable lo-range set of gears. Only problem with the 4WD other than the limited-slip ding is the "sometimes-required-for engagement-of-4WD" motion necessary for the front differential to engage. This is a result of the vacuum assisted Selec-Trac that works well; just be sure to have it engaged well before you need it. Same goes for getting into/out-of lo-range. I need about 50 feet of motion in Nuetral to swith ranges at the transfer case. All in all, it just takes some getting used to. I like the wide range of capabilities that the GW has, comfortable highway cruising and get off the beaten path, seriously. If you find one you like, take it to a reputable 4x4 shop for a detailed inspection. Of course one should take similar preventative measures with any potential vehicle.

I have read the newsgroup, andhave found no post on the Wagoneer Limited (only the Grand Wagoneer).I have the opportunity to buy a 1990 in very good condition. It appearsto have never been taken off road, and is very clean, and has a veryclean repair record (all normal repairs for a 1990). I am new (let'ssay very new) to owning Jeeps. My father & brother both own Cherokees,but financially, I can not do that. This jeep has many of the extrasfound that year (towing package is one). It approximately has 105Kmiles, no visible rust, good for my family. I will not be taking it offroad, only using it to tow small pop-up trailer, and using it aroundtown.My questions are. I can find very little on the Wagoneer, I assume thatthey are either very good cars to own, and nobody has anything bad tosay, or that they are all in junk yards, and don't last that long, whichone is it? Would this be a good buy at $6900? What should I look forto make sure this is a good Jeep?
